WTF Parenting Workshops: What’s The Function?

Precision Parenting WTF Group Training

For individuals who are interested in learning in a group format, group workshops are available.  WTF Parenting Workshops will cover an overview of behavioral science without application to a family’s specific situation.  Connecting with other parents experiencing similar behavioral challenges with their child provides powerful learning opportunities.  Topics to be addressed will include:

  • Understanding how to collect data to identify and define precisely what behaviors are most disruptive to your family

  • Determining the function of your child’s behavior and the variables that may be maintaining it

  • Implementing research-based strategies and techniques to create behavior change

The virtual sessions are designed to make WTF Workshops manageable for busy families.  Should you be unable to attend a session, videos will be made available to you to watch.  Collaboration with other parents is important for many families-the sense that another parent “gets it” can be very beneficial.  We will work together to create a roadmap for change.

The workshops span 6 weeks and include:

Precision Parenting Classes
  • 2 hour in-person class

  • 4 once weekly hour-long virtual strategy sessions

  • 2 hour in-person wrap-up session.

Staff Development/Educator Trainings

Teachers and school support staff are frequently called upon to manage challenging behavior in schools.  Precision Parenting offers in-school trainings for staff to:

  • Develop and strengthen school-wide behavior protocols

  • Teach behavior shaping techniques essential for challenging students

  • Trouble-shoot specific cases causing disruption in the school setting

Past staff development participants have reported a more cohesive school-wide behavioral philosophy, a stronger capacity for understanding the function of their students’ behavior as well as a more robust toolkit for handling these behaviors in the classroom.
