About Chris

For over 20 years, Chris has perfected the process of producing meaningful change for children and adolescents with behavior and learning challenges.  Her methods significantly change the lives of families whose children have special needs. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who provides families with a unique array of consulting services that are designed to empower parents.  Her years of experience with a wide variety of behavior and learning challenges enable her to customize programs based on children’s specific needs.

PROFESSIONAL & ACADEMIC HISTORY

Lehigh University, BA in Psychology

Upon completing undergraduate studies at Lehigh University earning a BA in psychology, in 1998 Chris entered the field of child literacy working with SMART (Start Making A Reader Today) a Portland affiliate of AmeriCorp/VISTA. Subsequently, she accepted a position as program manager for western states with the parent organization Reading is Fundamental in Washington D.C.

New York University, Masters Degree in Applied Psychology

In 2000, after earning a Masters Degree in Applied Psychology from New York University with a focus in the Psychological Foundations of Reading and Learning Disabilities, Chris served as a teaching specialist at the Churchill School in New York City. Upon returning to Portland in 2001, she completed a one year assignment with the Catlin Gabel School in the capacity of learning specialist.

Founder, Core Concepts Educational Services

In 2002, Chris founded Core Concepts, a private practice specializing in learning disabilities for children aged four through high school. Over time, the practice broadened to include a wide range of behavior change interventions.

Board Certified Behavioral Analyst

Upon completion of three years of advanced coursework, passed the Master’s Level Certification to become nationally certified and state licensed to provide services in Applied Behavior Analysis.

Founder, Precision Parenting

Upon becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Chris founded Precision Parenting with the objective of supporting parents and children managing the complexities of behavior and learning disorders.
